| We would like to acknowledge dancer Ricky "Mundo" Gordon creator ofSassa Step and Follow Thru, from the Ravers Clavers crew and previously Above A Dem Squad.Mundo is currently suffering from a disease known as Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), which is a disease that attacks the kidney’s filtering system (glomeruli) causing serious scarring. FSGS is one of the many causes of a disease known asNephrotic Syndrome, which occurs when valuable protein in the bloodleaks into the urine (proteinuria).Mundo was hospitalised for 2weeks after collapsing on day. He was released from KPH a few days agobut is still undergoing treatment from home with tubes in his chest andarm.Very few treatments are available for patients with FSGS.Most commonly patients are treated with steroid regimens, which havevery harsh side effects. Some patients have shown to respond positivelyto immunosuppressive drugs as well as blood pressure drugs which haveshown to lower the level of protein in the urine.
